What is CIW Certification?
The Internet is an inescapable fact of life today. It greatly enhances both our personal and work lives. That's why IT professionals need to keep up with Internet technologies in addition to other technical and business skills. Expanding expertise to include Internet skills helps secure a position in the 21st-century workforce. CIW (Certified Internet Webmaster) certification validates competency in IT industry standards, concepts and best practices; and familiarity with leading hardware and software technology.
An IT certification for the knowledge economy, CIW is an Internet vendor-neutral or job-role curriculum and certification designed to help career changers enter the IT industry and experienced and vendor-certified professionals build on existing IT skills.
CIW is offered for three disciplines - Designer, Enterprise Developer and Administrator - and one cross-functional area - Web Site Manager, which combines the other three disciplines, to allow learners to focus on pursuing personal interests and talents.

CIW Associate - The first step toward CIW certification is the CIW Foundations series and associated certification exam. The CIW Foundations series gives candidates the basic hands-on skills and knowledge that an Internet professional is expected to understand and use. After passing the Foundations exam, candidates are awarded the CIW Associate designation and can move on to one of the following Masters tracks.
Master CIW Designer - Composed of two five-day series, each series representing an Internet job role with its own exam (Site Designer and E-Commerce Designer series).
Master CIW Administrator - Composed of three five-day series, each series representing an Internet job role with its own exam (Server Administrator, Internetworking Professional, and Security Professional series).
Master CIW Enterprise Developer - Our most comprehensive program, composed of three Internet job roles (Application Developer, Database Specialist, and Enterprise Developer series) and three additional language exams (JavaScript and Perl, Java Programming, and Object-Oriented Analysis).

Manager - The newest Master CIW track, composed of two Internet job role
